Summer League Round 2, Tom King Memorial Trophy, Sunday 2nd June:
If Tony Hillas had not missed the keepnet with a 1lb skimmer then he would have topped 20lbs, lucky for him he had plenty in hand. Fishing end peg 47 he kept a succession of skimmers coming using the pole and tip, he also had a bonus 6lb carp for his winning weight. Kevin Hill stuck to waggler tactics from peg 34 to keep the skimmers coming for 7lbs and second place. It was close for third but Simon Allen topped the weights from a disappointing Lower Basin section to win out with a tip fished bag of skimmers for just under 6lbs.
Jack Crystal won the Junior section with 2lbs 4ozs off peg 26. Section wins went to Paul Braund in the Lower Basin, Paul Drissell in the second Basin and Matt Sampson at the Bird Hide.
