Bude Canal Angling Association

Important Close Season Announcement:

Bude Canal and Hele Bridge Pond will be observing a close season from the 1st April to the 31st May (inclusive).  Whalesborough Lake will not have a close season and will be open to members for fishing.

Welcome to our website. Established in 1967 Bude Canal Angling Association exclusively offers angling on 1.5 miles of the Bude Canal which is stocked with carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench, perch and gudgeon. As Bude canal has a sea lock at one end and is open to the rivers Neet and Strat at the other the occasional trout, dace and eel can also be caught.

Access to the canal is good with a tarmac towpath and numerous car parks at the town end of the canal. There are also a number of purpose built fishing platforms on pegs 25 to 30 in the Upper Wharf which are ideal for wheelchair anglers.

The Association has a lively match scene for members with full summer and winter league programmes as well as a pairs league and numerous cup contests. Please check out our competition pages for full details (inc. fixture lists) and the most recent match reports.

Full and Associate members also have exclusive access to fish at Hele Bridge Pond. The Association currently has limited places available and details of how to apply can be found on our contact page.
