Bude Canal Angling Association

Corvid-19 April Update Please Note:

Bude Canal Remains Closed for Fishing.

(as soon as angling on Bude Canal can recommence an update will be posted on this website)

Whilst the Government have begun to lift restrictions, due to the proximity of the multi-use paths and difficulty to maintain 2 metre social distancing whilst angling, the main canal from the Sea Lock to the A39 Hele Bridge remains closed to anglers.  The Association are working with our Landlords (Cornwall Council) to establish acceptable angling practices that will reduce the risk of breaching social distancing to a level acceptable to the Council.  Only when the Association and our Landlords are confident the risk is at an acceptable level will the Main Canal re-open.

Further Information for Members – Restrictions at  the Hele Bridge Members’ Lake and Whalesborough Lake have been relaxed for members only from 6am on Wednesday 13th May.  (for clarity and per Angling Trust guidelines we are not open to day ticket anglers).  Members are advised to read the update in the notice section for full details.

Competitions - All Matches remain cancelled until further notice.

Membership Renewal Notice - The 2019-20 membership season has been extended to 31st August 2020 with immediate effect.  Your current membership will therefore continue, at no extra cost, until that date.  Arrangements for 2020-21 membership renewal will be communicated to members in July when it is hoped a clearer picture with regards recreational angling will be known.

Membership Application - The Association is unable to accept any membership applications at the current time.  A notification as to when and how anglers may apply for membership will be published on this website in July.
