Winter League Round 2, Sunday 27th October:
The second consecutive match held with 'coffee' coloured water, but at least the sun shone and the overall conditions were good.
As expected the Lower Basin produced the skimmers and the top two weights came from pegs 16 and 19 respectively. Dave Allen broke his winning drought with an 11lb bag of skimmers on the long pole, he was chased all the way by Adrian Hill who fell short with 8lbs 10ozs. It was a case of what might have been for Mat Sampson on peg 27 after he switched from targeting carp to skimmers at the half way mark, and still managed a creditable 8lbs for third place.
Jack Crystal won the Junior section with a personal best 7lbs 3ozs, which would have seen him finish fourth overall.
The Lower Basin section went to Rob Fuller on end peg 12 with 5lbs of bits and Simon Allen took the Second Basin section win with a few less 'bits' for 4lbs 1oz.
