1000 Fish Stocked

The Environment Agency stocked 1000 fish into the Main Canal today (500 roach and 500 Bream).  The Fish were all bread at the EA’s fish farm in Calverton and were in A1 condition.

You will see from the photos the bream are good ‘skimmer’ stamp.

Hopeful these will dodge the cormorants!

The Committee are holding off with any further stocking of fish as they are fearful we are simply feeding the overwintering cormorants! If the birds move off in March as expected then further considerations to stocking will be agreed.
