Winter League Round 8, Sunday 23rd February:
The Rodds Bridge and Open Corner sections were tried again, and whilst the fishing was not quite so good, everyone caught. The top weights were all taken on punch bread, this included a 7lb 11oz common that took Mark Grattons weight above 10lbs and into first place. Mark was on 1lb bottom and 22 hook and took 35 elastic stretching minutes to bank the fish.
Simon Allen kept the redfins coming and with nothing over an ounce, tipped the scales at 5lbs exactly for second spot. Adrian Hill had an even smaller stamp of redfins and with no bonus fish ended with 3lbs 3ozs and 3rd spot.
Section wins went to Steve Whitehouse who did managed to find a few better fish on the maggot, and Mike Bowden who pipped Kevin Hill by an ounce.
Jack Crystal was best Junior with 2lb 6ozs from peg 2 and sixth overall.
