Pairs – Stu Bell Trophy

Pairs – Stu Bell Trophy

Sunday 9th August

With the Pairs League fixtures cancelled the legendary Stu Bell Trophy was the only team event in this seasons calendar.  On one of the hottest days of the year it was always going to be tough conditions and with the carp more intersted in sunbathing than eating, so it proved.

Adrian Hill did manage to charm three lumps for a 13lb winning haul in the lake but this was the exception and with partner Len Hancock not producing in the pond the Bude Bay Pirates finished 4th.  It was a different story for the Brendon All Stars as Tony Hillas amassed a bag of crucians and roach for a near 1olb bag of bits to win the pond.  Partner Mat Samson did find one carp and some silvers for 5lb on the Lake to take third and win the Trophy overall.  Me and My dad finished runners up as Simon Allen banked 7lbs of bits for 2nd on the Lake and Dave finishing  4th in the Pond.
