Angling resumed after 'Lockdown 2' at the Rodds Bridge end of the canal with peg 1 closest to Rodds Bridge and peg 16 just beyond Hoopers Bend (or peg 76 in old money). It was a shrewd move to move the venue when contrasted with last years competition, even when taking carp out of the equation.
It was a masterclass in punch and pinkie fishing on peg 15 from Simon Allen as in amongst the eyes he found a few decent skimmers for an impressive double figure winning bag of silvers. Tone Johns got off to a flyer with a near 9lb carp first put in but could not add to the weight and finally ending in second spot. Adrian Hill kept banging out the eyes on punch bread all day, but without the bonus skimmers he ended in third with 3lb 10zs of tiny redfins. Section wins went to Ady larkns and Kevin Hill respectively who managed to bag up on the small silvers all through the day.
