With only 11 points to make up from the away leg, hopes were high amongst the Bude Team that they could pull this years contest back on thier home water.  However, it was not to be and with North Devon taking six of the top ten places, and Bude filling four of the bottom six places, North Devon ran out the convincing winners. 

For those addicted to fishing the Basins it is worth noting that the top four positions all came from different sections. Steve Johnson was overall winner with 15lbs 3ozs of feeder caught skimmers from peg 20.  Ady Larkins had a nervy 40 minutes landing a 13lb carp from peg 47, but with the current 8lb blanket weight he came up 9ozs short on silvers for the top spot.  Down on peg1 Simon Allen was not distracted by the view of the beach and alternated all day between the short and long pole to bring 14lbs 9ozs to the bank, just one ounce off second spot.

Kevin Shears took the Second Basin section win with 12lbs 10ozs, and there were default section wins for Steve Whitehouse 7lbs 3ozs (Bird Hide), Chris Morris 12lb 6ozs (Upper Basin), Tom Downing 11lb 4ozs (Lower Basin), Paul Elworthy 10lb 3ozs (Narrows).

Speaking to Sky Sports after the Match the BCAA Chairman said the Committee had every confidence in the Bude AA Manager, but aded that after a losing sequence stretching back to 2023, they expected a positive result at the next Team fixture versus Bideford on the 26th October.
