EA Fish Delivery

Monday 19th January - EA Fish Delivery - Bude Canal

It was a long way from the EA's Nottingham Calverton fish farm to Bude, but EA delivery driver Nick made good time to deliver a consignment of tench, rudd and bream to the Lower Wharf this afternoon.  There were approximately 600 bream, 500 rudd and 250 tench, all of high quality (as always from the Team at Calverton) and averaging 10cm.  There were no fatalities from the consignment which was stocked into the Lower Basin at the Boat House.

The fish were provided free of charge and our thanks goes to Sally Gallop (EA Fisheries Officer) for her continued support of the Association and arranging the delivery.

As a reminder anyone aged 13 or over needs an Environment Agency (EA) rod fishing licence to fish our waters.  Children under 13 don't need one, but 13-16 year olds need to get a free junior EA licence.  The Association has benefitted from a number of funding grants in recent years so please ensure you renew your rod licence so you don't end up with a potential £2,500 fine if caught without one.
