Winter League R3

Sunday 9th November - Winter league R3

Another BBC forecast for poor weather and parade duties on Remembrance Sunday saw a reduced field of 11 take to the canal.  Thankfully the forecast was overly pessimistic with just a few heavy showers on what was an overcast and warmish day for November.

Adrian Hill pulled end peg 14 in the Lower Basin and alternating between the tip and pole made the most of the opportunity,  banking 12lb 2ozs of skimmers for the win.  Andy Southey stuck to his favoured tip method on adjacent peg 15,  eeking out 18 skimmers for 10lb 8ozs and second spot.  It was a tie for third with Steve Whitehouse (peg 17) and Paul Braund (peg 33), both weighing in with 8lb 10ozs. Paul Braund preventing a Lower Basin podium shut out (just).

There was an unusual catch from Ian Gray on peg 29 who hooked the lure pictured below, one of the bigger fish he caught on the day!
