Winter League R8:  Jan Pethic/ Johnny Coney Memorial Match 

Andy Southy battered the opposition with a 23lb 11oz winning net in the annual Jan Pethic/Johnny Coney memorial match.  Fishing off peg 31 Andy alternated all day between the tip and long pole to bring a succession of slabs to the bank and a bonus brown trout.  Adrian "Sailor" Hill bagged a creditable 12lbs 2ozs of skimmers on the long pole from peg 17 for second place, ahead of Mark Gratton who battered the silvers for 9lbs 11ozs from end peg 14 for third.

There were default section wins for  Andy Parsons with a few skimmers for 8lb 1oz in the Second Basin, and Ady Larkins with 7lbs 15ozs of skimmers from peg 16 in the Lower Basin.

Simon Allen won the Winter League in absentia as he was on holiday in Majorca.  Only Paul Braund could have caught Simon on the final day but he crashed out on peg 32 with a mere 3lb 8ozs and no points, in the end falling to 4th in the league.

There is always next season.
