Pairs League (Evening) Round 2
The eight teams were greeted by a blustery evening where the visibility was difficult, the weather alternating between bright sunshine and overcast conditions with the light fading quickly in the last half hour. Whilst in general the fishing was hard, thankfully the rain kept away.
It was a perfect score for Dazed and Confused with Steve Maynard and stand in sub (for Rob Fuller) Ryan Willshire bagging top weights of 7lbs 10ozs and and 12lbs 9ozs respectively. The Team now take a commanding 4 points lead in the league after only two rounds.
Me & My Boy were saved by a late 2lb bream for Simon Allen that combined with Dave Allen's solid 5lbs, saw them into second place. Third spot went to the Bude Bay Pirates and whilst Sundays winner Mark Gratton did not fare so well, partner Adrian Hill banked 7lb 10ozs of skimmers for second place in the Upper Basin that saw off the challenge from AB Angling by 0.5 of a point.
