Phyllis Turner Trophy - Roach and Rudd Only

Steve Whitehouse found the redfins for the second year running to retain the Phyllis Turner rudd n' roach only Trophy.  Fishing from peg 19 Steve fished short over maggot and ground bait to put together a winning net of 5lbs 7ozs.  Simon Allen was second fishing maggot on the short pole to bring 4lb 11ozs of roach to the scales from peg 15.  Andy Southey on peg 16 rounded off the placings with 4lb 7ozs of roach for third place (again maggot on the short pole).

As was feared at the draw it was super tough going in the Second Basin as the roach and rudd did not want to play. Tony Hillas won the section with a hard fought for 1lb 2ozs, a result that puts him within half a point of the Summer League lead with one match to go.  

It will be a nail biting last round on September 5th with five anglers in with a shout of the title and only 3 points separating them
