Bude v North Devon

Sunday 27th November - Bude v North Devon

With the bream not playing ball it was a tactical and close competition with North Devon winning out by 6 points.

With scratching the theme of the day for many, for Bude there were too many weights lost to the competition by the odd ounce.  Bude did win the Upper Basin and Bird Hide sections and only lost the Narrows section by 0.5 of a point, but it was the Lower Basin where the greatest number of points were lost.  Tom Downing took top weight for North Devon fishing the long pole off end peg 20 with 13lbs 10ozs of silvers.  Den Laws bagged a late carp (to make up for the one lost at the net earlier!) for 9lbs 1oz and a second place for Bude and Ian Gray finished in third place for Bude off peg 19 with 7lb 11.5 ozs.

Bude will try again next year to end the losing streak that now dates back a decade.
