Summer League R2 - Tom King Trophy
The double figure bags did not materialise on what turned into a hard scratching day with the bigger fish presumably looking for 'love' in the narrows. The defending Summer League champion Brian Powel plugged away on peg 14 with the short pole, and whilst others looked for bream that were not there, he banked 7lbs 4ozs of silvers to win the Tom King Trophy. Despite a couple of decades age advantage, 'London' Tone Hillas could not keep pace with Brian, but on a slow day his 5lbs 4ozs of silvers from adjacent peg 15 proved enough for second place with the bonus of going top of the Summer League. Dave Allen plugged away in the Second Basin on the long pole, catching small silvers slowly but regularly to put together over 4lbs to finish third from peg 28 (pic below).

There were default section wins for Andy Preston (4lbs 1oz) in the Lower Basin and Paul Braund (2lbs 13ozs) in the Second Basin.
