Summer League Round 4, Sunday 24th June:
With the fine weather continuing everyone was thinking 'green' as they pulled out their peg from the hat, and with the top six coming from the Second Basin it turned out as expected.
Adrian Hill fished short on peg 33 and picked 11lbs of silvers on the inside line to finish first, with the added win bonus of the silver peg £74, it was a profitable tactic. Next door on hot peg 34 Matt Sampson targeted the skimmers but a lost slab cost him as he ended 1lb short in second place. Simon Allen on 32 just squeaked in a 10lb haul of silvers to close out the expected podium places from pegs 32,33 and 34.
Peter Giles had a 45 minute tussle with a carp on the light gear but his overall weight of 9lbs was only good enough to win the Second Basin section prize. The Lower Basin section went to Wayne Burnard with a 6lb bag of silvers. Jack Crystal was an ounce off 4lbs but still recorded his best weight of the season to win the Junior section.
