Winter League Round 2, Sunday 1s November:
This match turned into the Lower Basin slab show as the big bream finally made an appearance in the deeper water. However, it was not until the final couple of hours that the Lower Basin came to life with the slabs and skimmers starting to feed.
Simon Allen banked the majority of his 12lb winning bag in final two hours from peg 19 when he took a succession of skimmers after almost three hours of nothing! Kevin Hill managed to find a couple of slabs early doors, the biggest being 5lbs 4ozs and enough for second place. The real (reel) fishing was going on in the Second Basin with Len Hancock taking a succession of quality fish on the waggler for an 8lbs third place net.
Dave Allen took the Lower Basin section win with a net that included a slab, Paul Braund won the Upper Basin section with a 5lb net of silvers.
