Winter League R3

Winter League Round 3

In contrast to the previous week Sundays match was fished in flat calm sunny conditions, although it had been the coldest night of the year so far.  It was a day for the big bream in the Second Basin and Len Hancock was the only one to put more than one in his net from that section, banking three slabs for 13lbs 4ozs.  Len was fishing off peg 31 with two taken on the tip and one on the waggler.  Tony Hillas had a bonus 3lb perch from peg 20 and this was enough to push him clear of Simon Allen and secure second with 11lbs 10ozs.  Simon Allen alternated between the tip and the pole off peg 18 to find a couple of slabs and some silvers for 11lbs 4ozs and third place.

There were default sections for Paul Braund (peg 15) with 9lbs 9ozs of silvers (mostly roach), and Steve Whitehouse (peg 29) with 6lbs 6ozs of bream.
