Sunday 12th March - Winter League R7

Pegs 1 (normal 13) to 10 (normal 20) and two in the Brendon Car Park above Falcon Bridge (11 and 12), was the agreed pegging strategy this week.

Simon Allen made the most of end peg 12 and amassed several quality skimmers early doors on the long pole fishing mid channel, and whilst the fish dried up in the second half of the contest, 14lbs was enough to win.  Matt Sampson was pushing hard for four wins on the spin but had to settle for runner up with 12lbs of skimmers off peg 7.  Close by on peg 5 Steve Whitehouse banked over 9lbs of skimmers on the pole for third place.

It was a day to forget for Adrian Hill on peg 2 who lost a big skimmer and a decent hybrid at the net that would have won him the section. The section win went to Paul Braund fishing adjacent peg 3, netting a 3lb skimmer bream on the long waggler early on and then bagging small roach late into the match on the short pole to pull clear of Mark Gratton who was runner up in section with 4lb 11ozs of silvers..
