Winter League Round 7,  Sunday 9th February:

The high winds did not put 9 anglers off who were pleased to find some shelter at Rodds Bridge.  The section was pegged from Rodds Bridge (no.1) to roughly the mile post (no.9), with the higher numbers suffering the brunt of the wind.

As the match progressed it was clear the better fish were coming from the low number  'comfy pegs' with a number of nettable skimmers and roach and a bonus 10z chub for Mark Gratton (not sure who was most surprised, the chub or Mark).  Simon Allen put together a 5lb 2oz net of silvers to win from peg 1, and Adrian Hill amassed a large number of redfins on the punch off peg 8 to bank 4lb 9ozs and secure second place.  Jack Crystal was also among the skimmers (and a chub) from peg 2, finishing just 1oz behind Adrian Hill in third overall and 1st Junior.

A creditable mention to Matt Sampson who really had the worst of the weather and swapped from chasing a carp to roach bashing too late, but still banked an impressive number of small redfins for 2lbs 9ozs.  Also to mention Dave did not have a good day.

So, we have found where the fish are, all we need next time is some decent weather to really see what bags we can catch.
