Winter League Round 7, Sunday 7th February:
This was another Lower Basin dominated match with the first four weights all coming from this deep water section. Peter Slade fishing off peg 14 banked a 14lb carp to give him a winning 22lbs bag. However, it was still a costly day for Pete who broke his pole during the bad weather. Dave Allen bagged up on bream from the other end of the Basin on peg 20 taking 19lbs in the last two hours of the competition. Steve Whitehouse rounded off the podium with a slab taken on the waggler to see him home in third.
It was small stuff on the bread punch in the Second Basin with a 1lb 10oz, 45 fish, bag winning the section for Paul Braund. Dick Turner won the Lower Basin section, finishing fourth overall, with 1lb 13ozs.
