Bude won this blustery and rainy return home leg by 4 points, but failed to overhaul the Tarka Swims first leg deficit of 30 points, losing overall to Bideford by an aggregate of 26 points. 

On a positive note Bude anglers did manage to fill the three podium positions with Simon Allen winning the contest with 22lbs 4ozs of bream and skimmers, using the long pole from the new hot peg 27.  It was far from long pole conditions in the Lower Basin with strong winds gusting all day, so Den Law put the tip to good use bagging a few bream early doors and eventually clinching 2nd place with 15lbs 10ozs.  Despite the windy conditions Paul Braund did manage to get the 7 meter whip working and bagged well in the last three hours to bring 14lbs 14ozs to the bank for third.

There was a true section win for Tony Hillas at the Bird Hide with 7lbs 5ozs of silvers, a default win for Tony Johns in the Second Basin with 10lbs 3ozs of tip caught bream, a double default section win for Richard Jeffries with 8lb 8ozs from the Lower Basin, and Kevin Shears with a true section win from peg 3 in the narrows with 5lbs, a section which was totally exposed to the weather and saw the worst of the conditions.

The result on the day ended a losing streak for Bude stretching back to 2023, but they are still a long way off getting that aggregate win, but at least they end the team competition season with a win.  (Apologies for no photos of the winning catch but we have got 2nd and 3rd!)
