Pairs League R1 - Sunday 4th May

Whalesborough Lake and Hele Bridge Pond

Both venues fished as expected with the Stock Pond continuing to produce excellent bags of small carp (goldfish) and tench, whilst it was the anticipated struggle on the Lake.  Andy Southy did find two carp early doors to win the Lake section from peg 51, but partner Beau Charnock could only manage 4th place despite putting together a double figure bag.  However, the bonus point secured by Andy for winning the section was enough to see AB Angling share the win with the Tiscott Boys, as both Paul Braund and Tony Johns finished second in thier respective sections, giving both Teams 10 points.

Mark Gratton won the Pond section with 18lbs of pole caught tench and carp from peg 11 (Museum) on the pole, sadly for Mark, partner Adrian Hill blanked off peg 69 and the Bude Bay Pirates ended the day sharing 3rd place with the Lynstone Lads.  Ady Larkins eeked a small carp and a couple of eels for 2lbs 5ozs from peg 55 to finish 3rd in section with Steve Whitehouse also finishing third in the Pond with 13lbs 12ozs off end peg 12 (Museum Narrows).

A quick thanks to Tom Muncaster and Tone Johns who cleared the swims in the Pond, which probably helped with the catch rate!
