Sunday 20th July 2025 - Summer League R5 - Falcon Cup
The recent rain had colured the water so expectations were high, although the good weather at the start did not hold and everyone got a soaking as the last hour was fished in torrential rain.
A carp taken on the tip late on sealed victory for Andy Preston off peg 15 in what had been a close affair up to that point in the Lower Basin. Andy's weight of 16lbs pulled him well clear of the rest and sees him lead the Summer League by one point from Brian Powell. Steve Whitehouse put a double figure bag of silvers together fishing the pole from peg 17, and boosted by a bream early doors this was enough for the runner up spot. Andy Southy fished the tip and pole to take third place with 9lb 3ozs of bream from peg 16.
There was a default section win for Den Law with 8lb 11oz from peg 14, and Tony Johns won the Upper Basin section with 6lb 10ozs from peg 34.
