Nathan Underwood bagged 'a lucky slab' (quote from Si Allen) that won the Lower Basin section and kept the Halwill Hustlers championship charge alive, finishing joint first with New Team Faint Heart. As Gary Player stated,' the more I practice, the luckier I get.' Partner Ian Gray netted 7lbs of skimmers to finish 3rd in his section.
New Team Faint Heart piled on the pressure with Dick Turner winning the Second Basin section with 16lbs of bream and partner Peter Slade picking up near 4lbs of silvers from the mercurial peg 20 to finish 3rd in the section and move them up to 3rd in the league.
The Brendon Allstars put in a podium performance with 'London Tone' Hilias bagging 8lbs of skimmers for 2nd in his section and Matt Sampson finding a few bits for 4th in the Lower Basin.
It was very dark come the weigh in so a few extra minutes of daylight will be much appreciated for the next two evening matches.
