Pairs League (Evening)

Tuesday 16th June - Pairs league (Evening) R3 

It was an event packed evening on what on paper were ideal bream conditions being overcast and warm.  With the 'bream boys' sitting out on the chopped worm they were panicking 2hours 45 minutes in as Paul Braund cracked on with the short whip and caster bagging the silvers all evening.  He was out in front with 15 minutes to go and dreaming of a famous victory for the Tiscott Boys only to have his efforts dashed when Adrian Hill bagged a 3lb slab to take the section win late on (breamed out of it yet again!).  Adrian's partner Mark Gratton was a little off the pace in the Lower Basin but 5lb 8ozs was enough for 2 points and earnt the Bude Bay Pirates victory on the evening and a share of the League lead overall as Dazed and Confused stand in ringer Ryan Willshire faltered (Rob Fuller would have smashed it off peg 32).

It was the Simon Allen show in the Bottom Basin bagging a brace of carp on the method feeder and  'mini wafter' to easily win the section, he also found time to wade into the canal to retrieve DT's landing net handle (good job it was not January).  Sadly for Si, Dave was having a mare off peg 29 and the single point earned Me and my Boy a shared second place with the Tiscott Boys and the Brendon All Stars.

A quick reminder that a week Sunday is the 'Wag n Mag', so waggler, or whip with flick tip (no elastic) and maggot or caster baits only.  No poles (unless fished as a whip without elastic) and no feeder/ledgering.  For clarification, a whip must be fished with the same length of line as the whip itself and all floats must be bottom attached only (i.e. classic waggler).
