No one is quite sure what constitutes a 'good draw' on the canal at present as we had a complete reversal of form with the top three finishers all coming from the Lower Basin.

In the tightest of finishes it was a draw for first place with Matt Sampson (peg 15) and Tony Hillas (golden peg 19) targeting the bream and banking 12lbs 11ozs of bronzers apiece.  This caused a bit of an issue for the match committee who decided that in the event of  a tie the golden peg payout would be reduced by 50%, so London Tone picked up an additional £50. 

Meanwhile the real fishing was happening on pegs 13 and 32 with Paul Braund banking 9lb 10ozs of silvers using the short whip and caster for third and Brian Powell bagging some decent roach on pole fished bronze maggot for an Upper Basin section win with 8lbs 11ozs of silvers.  Steve Whitehouse picked up a default section win in the Lower Basin with 3lb 15ozs of silvers.
