Sunday 20th August Martin Group Services Shield
London Tone Hillas likes a 'wafter', and so did the carp off peg 13 with Tone bagging a brace of doubles which added to his 7lbs of silvers totalled over 32lbs to leave the opposition way off the pace. Closest rival was Adrian Hill who bagged just short of 9lbs of silvers from peg 17 to take second place. Finishing third and top weight in the Second Basin was Paul Braund who bagged 8lbs 8ozs of silvers on the trusty 8 meter whip from end peg 28.
There were section wins for Dave Allen with 8lbs 4ozs (Lower Basin), and Ady Larkins with 5lbs (Second Basin), both made up of silvers.
Talk of wafter bans and carp blanket weights were back on the agenda at the presentation, possibly as with three matches to go London Tone is coming up fast on the rails with the Team Faint Heart pairing still holding on to first and second, the Rudd n Roach match in two matches time can't come soon enough!
