End peg 35 continues to produce as Dave Allen amassed a classic Bude Canal mixed bag including roach, rudd, bream and tench for a 16lb winning weight. Dave bagged the majority of the fish on the tip, using the popular 'wafter' method. It was a close call though with Ady Larkins only 12ozs behind with 15lbs 10oz fishing peg 16 in the Lower Basin. Ady's bag of skimmers included one noteable slab of 4lbs 8ozs and earned him second spot. Andy Southy bagged a number of skimmers on the tip from peg 14 which he backed up with a few silvers on the pole for a third placed weight of 11lbs 7ozs.
There were secition wins for Paul Braund (Lower Basin 13) with 8lbs 3ozs, and Brian Powel (Second Basin 34) with 6lb 11oz.
The big fish did not show for Matt Sampson and he has dropped out of the title race leaving the two legends Dick Turner and Brian Powel in a battle royal at the top with DT staying clear from Brian Powel by 1.5pts after today. The Bookies have DT at evens, Brian at 13/8 with 25-1 for anyone else from the field.
It also did not go unnoticed that Colin Abbot beat London Tone Hillas, well done Colin, just proves when you get the depth right you will catch!
