Winter League Round 3, Sunday 16th November:
Apologies for the late posting. I have been busy giving the French chub a hammering!
It was the Bird Hide section that came back to the fore with carp being the main target. Peter 'Tacker' Giles landed three of the beasts for his first victory of the season with a 15lbs+ haul. Simon Allen lost six fish and could only bank a couple for 12lbs bag and second spot. Simon Poynter stuck to the trusty pole in the Lower Basin to take 10lbs of silvers for third spot and maintain his early winter league lead.
Ady Larkins took a solitary 9lb 7oz carp from the Bird Hide to win that section and Ian Croxton had the same weight of silvers boosted by a slab to win the Lower Basin section. 3lbs 5ozs of roach taken on punched bread won the Second Basin section for Paul Braund where most of the anglers were left scratching around for ounces. Winter is starting to bite!
