Winter League R4 2018

Monday, 26 November 2018

Winter League Round 4,  Sunday 25th November:

Fears regarding the recent cold snap were confirmed with only four anglers managing to bank any fish during a difficult 5 hour match.  That is not to say other anglers did not have their chances with Simon Allen and Keven Hill both losing carp.

Steve Whitehouse did find a 3lb 3oz slab off peg 15 and this was easily enough to win the contest and extend his lead at the top of the Winter League.  Adrian Hill finally got the bread punch to work off end peg 22 and bagged  20 roach late on for 13ozs, finishing second on the day.  Jean Bowden was only 1oz behind in third place with a 12 oz skimmer from peg 19, one of only two fish landed from the usually prolific Lower Basin.

Mark Gratton managed to tempt two small roach in the last half hour for 1/2 an ounce and with the other nine anglers blanking it gave him the fourth and final spot.
